How VikingFestFinder works
Most lists of Viking festivals are buried on clothing-shop blogs: no map, no filters, and dates that are often a year out of date. We wanted one trustworthy place to look.
How we build listings
- Sources. We start from public community calendars (Sons of Vikings, Viking Warrior, VKNG Jewelry, Viking Times, The Jelling Dragon, Sons of Norway, reenactment group calendars) and then check each event against the organizer's own website wherever possible.
- No invented dates. If an organizer hasn't published exact dates, we show the month or "TBA" and flag the listing as unconfirmed.
- Last checked. Every event page shows the date we last verified it, plus links to our sources.
- Corrections. Organizers can claim and correct a listing at any time.
What we include
Viking and Norse festivals, Viking markets, reenactment events, and Nordic-heritage festivals (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Icelandic and Finnish) in the United States and Canada. We don't list general Renaissance faires unless they run a Viking-themed weekend, or Celtic events unless they're clearly framed as Norse/Viking.
How the site is funded
Basic listings are free. We plan to fund the site with optional featured listings for organizers, one sponsor per season, and clearly labelled affiliate links (for example, hotels near festivals or Viking clothing). Sponsors never change what we list or how we describe events.
Who's behind it
VikingFestFinder is run from Norway by a marketer with a soft spot for Viking history, built for the North American festival community. (Placeholder: Knut to write a short personal bio.)
